The Illuminations cost £2.4 million to stage and the
mountain of equipment is worth £10 million. The Illuminations
will shine non-stop for 66 nights and the dazzling display
stretches almost six miles from Starr Gate to Bispham.
"FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS"

www.festivaloflight.co.uk
The
Festival is a mixture of spectacular and intriguing events
and installations taking place in Blackpool during the 66
nights of the Illuminations.
Make
sure you see Michael Trainor's giant mirror ball installation
entitled They shoot horses don't they which will be spectacularly
illuminated by Greg McLenahan. There's the History of the
Illuminations exhibition at the Solaris Centre where you can
get up close to working illuminations and see original drawings
and diagrams dating back to the 1930's.
